David Cameron yesterday became the new UK Prime Minister, the youngest Prime Minister since 1812, after negotiations that seemed to drag on forever. We can therefore, probably excuse him for giving a relatively brief victory speech. However, we’re a little worried that he might have forgotten what country he has just been elected to lead if his speech and other leaders’ victory speeches are anything to go for.
United Kingdom, David, the United Kingdom!
Just for a bit of fun, we have put together the following word clouds which highlight the keywords used in the various leaders victory speeches, the greater the use of the word in the speech, the more prominent it’s size in the cloud. The clouds might just help us to cut through the waffle and better understand the message that our leaders are trying to emphasise…or rather, it might just demonstrate that when it comes to making speeches, our leaders could do with consulting a thesaurus now and again!
